Lefteris Sidirourgos is currently a member of the Management of Data, Information, and Knowledge Group (MaDgIK) at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). Prior joining MaDgIK, he was a researcher at the Systems Group of ETH Zurich and at the Database Architectures Group of CWI Amsterdam. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Univeristy of Amsterdam, and his M.S. in Computer Science and B.S. in Mathematics from Univeristy of Crete.

Dr. Sidirourgos teaches the course Large Scale Data Management in the Master of Science in Data Science programm of the School Of Information Sciences and Technolodgy, Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB).

Dr. Sidirourgos is an experienced database architect with a demonstrated history of working in the research industry. He has been a core developer for over a decade for the open source columnar DBMS MonetDB, and he has been employed by leading industry companies such as Microsoft Research and Amazon.
